Anyone that knows me knows that over the last few years I've developed a large patch of Melasma; A patchy brown or dark brown skin discoloration that usually occurs on the face and may result from hormonal changes, as in pregnancy and during the administration of estrogen containing oral contraceptives. It is generally found on sun-exposed areas of the face. It really bothered me and I have tried everything from lightening creams to painful laser treatments and chemical peels. To make matters worse - a few months ago I noticed that I was starting to get another spot on the other side of my face. A few weeks ago I went to the dermatologist for my yearly skin check and saw a new doctor in the practice. We went through my 'treatment' history and he recommended trying liquid nitrogen - freezing the spot. Of course I was completely skeptical...but see the results for yourself.

This was taken 5 days after the treatment. We only treated
a small portion of the larger spot on the left. This was taken
after the scab had fallen off so it's pretty pink. And you can
see the new formation on the right.

This was taken today - right side is completely
gone and so is the portion treated on the left
I'm pretty excited and can't wait to have the rest of the spot on the left done. Pretty amazing!
