New...errrr Old Job???!!!!

A few weeks ago, I stumbled across an opportunity that had opened up at Level 3 Communications. As most know, I worked at Level 3 from 2000 - 2008, prior to joining Reliance Globalcom. The last year at Reliance has been bumpy to say the least, and the last few months completely unbearable. I had been looking at other opportunities for the last 6 months or so - but hadn't really found anything that really called to me (most were an even longer commute, crazy 24 x 7 hours, etc...). Then as fate would have it, I was thinking about an old friend one day, that I hadn't talked to for a while, dialed her up and in the course of conversation she mentioned there was an opening on her team. A few short weeks later - I have resigned from Reliance and am back at Level 3. Even though the company and a lot of the people are the same - the job is new - but a perfect fit for me! I'm so excited to start this next path - and can't wait to see where it leads!

Great Emma Quotes

Our daughter is 5 going on 13 - and has recently spouted out some great sayings. Chris and I decided that we should keep track and post the best ones weekly - most of them will be used as blackmail when we are paying for college, wedding...or for any other times we feel like bringing it up. Here's the first one:

"I'm so upset & you're ruining my life!" - door slams

This was in reaction to telling her we had some errands to run today.

My Son - SJMS Forever!

Last weekend we drove out to Salina,KS for the 122nd Corps St. Johns Military School Commencement and Graduation. Austin completed 9th grade on the Academic Honor Roll - and with much personal Honor. The weekend was packed full of activities - all were amazing. It was a great mix of school and military traditions - but the best part of the entire last year was looking into my young man's face and seeing how immensely proud of himself he is.

Austin,

Although this journey started off extremely hard for you - you persevered and not only got through it - you are outstanding - as a son, young man and as a cadet. I can tell you that your Dad and I, Tracy and Chris and the rest of your family are so very proud of you and your accomplishments! I know that next year is still up in the air - but weigh all of your options carefully and I know you will make the best decision for you.

It's Been A While

Okay, so it's been a while since my last post - and I've had so much to write down! For starters Chris and I met some great friends in Vegas last month - as always - it was a blast! Then Tami and I hosted a fantastic baby shower for our very dear friend Shannon - can't wait for Baby XXX to arrive! Last weekend we were in Salina for Austin's 9th grade commencement - which was completely amazing! Austin came home with us for a few days after and we actually got to spend Mother's Day together for the first time in a very long time! I will cherish the time we spent forever! To top it off I spent my final day at Reliance Globalcom - today. I resigned 2 weeks ago and will be going back to Level 3 on Monday. It was a very bittersweet day - as I'm so glad to be out of that toxic environment - but will miss everyone so much. I made some great friends over the last 2 years - and it's sad to move on without them. I am nervous and excited at the same time for Monday - but know I'm starting down a new path with lots of new experiences ahead.
