Melissa

On Friday March 20th, Chris's sister Melissa passed away. She had a rocky road to bear but is finally at peace. We love you Rex and Jackie and Kevin - even though this time in grief is hard, be content that Melissa has found hers in heaven.

Thank You Friends - Love You!

Some days are cold and dark.
Some make us feel so alone.
Some days are hard to understand.
On those days God knew we'd need an extra hug or two.
So he gave us friends.
So that we would always have an angel close when we needed one.

Words to Live By

Two Friends were walking through the desert.

During some point of the journey, they had an argument and one Friend slapped the other Friend in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

Today my Best Friend slapped me in the face.

They kept on walking, until they found an oasis where they decided to take a bath.

The Friend who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but his Friend saved him.

After he recovered he wrote on a stone:

Today my Best Friend saved my life.

The Friend who had slapped and saved his Best Friend asked - After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now after I've saved you, you write on a stone. Why?

The Friend replied, When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away...but when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where it can never be erased.

Austin Mission Trip

On Saturday Austin will be leaving home to travel to Louisiana on a Mission trip with his Church. He will be there for 5 days helping to rebuild houses for those that have been without since hurricane Katrina.

Austin,

I hope that while you are there you work hard, listen, and learn about other people and something about yourself. You are such a great son and I'm so proud of you! I know this experience will be something that stays with you for the rest of your life - I can't wait to hear all about it! Be safe and have fun!

I love you,

Mom

Dress Up

Over the past few months Emma has become increasingly interested in playing dress up. Not only does she wear the princess dress up costumes - but now she refuses to wear anything but dresses or skirts. Now because it's been so cold outside - she wears a skirt, long sleeve shirt and tights with her 'tappy' shoes. Every day Chris and I are more than surprised by the ensemble she has chosen - and the amount of thought and effort that goes into each outfit - so I thought what better way to showcase her style then to keep a daily log. These are the outfits from yesterday and today.
