Every year all the kids in the neighborhood spend lots of time decorating their bikes, scooters, wagons and even 4 wheelers to participate in the Harvest Lane Annual 4th of July parade. This year was no exception and as always was a huge success. The local fire department led the parade and gave engine tours and safety talks to all the kids....followed by doughnuts and coffee - YUM!
We also kicked off our 1st annual (I hope we do it again next year) Neighborhood Hog Roast and BBQ. Even though the weather did not cooperate - we had a hail storm 5 minutes after the pig was served and a down pour a few hours later - the party was a hit! We had great participation and was a great way to meet some of our neighbors. Here's some photos from the day.

The kids all wanted to name our piggy - but
we didn't think that would be a good idea -
so Piggy it is!

Our neighbor's own a DQ and brought this yummy ice
cream cake.

Everyone loves a slip and slide!
